Resident Evil 6 “Captivates” with new trailer….and a new release date!

With lackluster reviews coming in from all over for Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City, it looks like it is time to set all sights ahead to Resident Evil 6. To help do that Capcom has released a brand new trailer for the game titled “Captivate”  along with the trailer comes the news that the release date has always been moved up a month to October 2nd 2012!  That is pretty awesome considering most times when a game’s release is moved, it’s back not up!  Here is the trailer:

Resident Evil: Raccoon City’s Triple Impact trailer hits the web and offers three perspectives!

by Mike:

One of the selling points of the upcoming Resident Evil game is that you will be able to play as part of a few different factions.  The game’s story itself is a re-telling of the events from Resident Evil 2 & 3.  For me this is a welcome plot point since Raccoon City itself has always been my favorite setting for the RE series. Check out some of the playable characters in new trailer for RESIDENT EVIL: Racoon City’s Multiplayer hero mode!

Looks like the longest running survival-horror franchise is finally taking steps to change with the times.  We’ve already heard from various reports that run-and-gun will now be included in gameplay, however from the looks of this new character trailer, Resident Evil: Raccoon City will also have multiplayer modes.

Is this something you are pining for as a fan of the series? Do you think this will turn any long time fans of the series off, or help to bring new gamers in?

Capcom creates new website to promote a new Resident Evil game….

With Resident Evil: Raccoon City coming out later this year, as well as a new HD remasters of Resident Evil 4 & Code Veronica, you might think Capcom deserves to take a small break from the franchise. Guess again! If this website is any indication http://www.umbrellasciences.com/ then Capcom is well on it’s way to creating even more Resident Evil content in the near future.  Not much is known about what exactly the website is promoting.  Is this in conjunction with Raccoon City which releases later this year? Is it the mere beginning stages of another new Resident Evil game further down the road?  Not sure, however one thing is clear, the hit franchise shows no signs of slowing down.  Upon visiting the website it will eventually re-direct you to http://www.insertedevil.com where you will be treated to a video of an unknown man telling you he has the secret to finally take Umbrella Corporation down, but he needs your help.

It sounds like this could be a scavenger hunt for prizes including possibly a copy of whichever Resident Evil game the website is promoting! Keep your eyes peeled for more in the future!

Resident Evil 15th Anniversary trailer! What’s in store as we go into the future, and dabble a bit in the past!

Whether you are a seasoned Resident Evil franchise player or you merely just heard of the series from my Zombies in Video Games piece, it has been one hell of a terrific run for the most part starting in 1996, and this franchise is showing no signs of slowing down.  Along with Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City, Resident Evil: Mercenaries, and Resident Evil: Revelations all releasing later this year, we are also being treated to a couple of stellar installments from the series past getting the HD treatment for the PS3 & Xbox360 systems.  None other than Resident Evil: Code Veronica & Resident Evil 4(widely considered the best entry into the series to date). You probably recognize similar treatment given to other franchises in the past such as God of War & Final Fantasy, even the original Resident Evil game got an update a few years back for the GameCube system. If those are the models to hold up to, you can expect one hell of a presentation ready to be unveiled.  Check out the Resident Evil 15th Anniversary trailer below:
