One of my more anticipated games I am looking forward to this year is ALIEN: ISOLATION.
Despite being burned and disappointed in some many games based on the ALIEN franchise up to now, everything I have seen in regards to ISOLATION has me thinking that finally the game makers have captured the essence of what it would be like to feel helpless in space facing off against a Xenomorph. Check out the latest trailer for the game below and be ready to wake up out of Cryosleep on October 7th!

All joking aside, this game looks pretty incredible. While I don’t have a PS4 just yet, I am planning on making the jump in a few weeks when I get my tax return. There is a PS3 version releasing as well, but since I am so close to converting, I’d rather save my money for the next-gen experience.
“You are Garrett, the Master Thief. The City you once knew has changed. Your thieving skills are all you can trust as you walk the fine line between politics and the people, entangled in layers of conflict. With time running out, you’ll unravel a dark, personal secret from the past that ultimately threatens to tear your world apart.
Get ready to become the shadows. Become Garrett. Become the Master Thief. “
Thief is available exclusively on the PS3/PS4 and will be available February 25th!
I haven’t posted news on this site in awhile. Been really busy lately with the podcast and just life in general. However, I had to throw this up as it is the latest trailer for a game I have had my eye on for awhile. Naughty Dog’s follow up to their smash hit Uncharted series; The Last of Us
“The Last of Us is genre-defining experience blending survival and action elements to tell a character-driven story about a population decimated by a modern plague. Cities are abandoned and being reclaimed by nature. Remaining survivors are killing each other for food, weapons, and whatever they can find. Joel, a ruthless survivor, and Ellie, a young teenage girl who’s braver and wiser beyond her years, must work together to survive their journey across what remains of the United States.”
With the latest trailer comes the release date, which is May 7th 2013…still a ways out, but trust me, that day is circled on my Calendar for sure now!
For those that are too young to have played the earlier Silent Hill games or just completely skipped over the series due to being on Team Resident Evil, there is never a better time than now to experience a couple of the best entries in the series as Konami is re-releasing Silent Hill 2 & 3 in HD for the PS3 & 360. Both games are included in one purchase deemed Silent Hill: HD Collection.
Check out the teaser below and I guarantee your interest will be peaked!
Yakuza Of The End is a game not released over here, in which zombies start going on a rampage in Tokyo and it is up to the Yakuza to stop them. It has just been reported that the game is getting a North American release in March 2012, exclusively on the PS3. From Gamezone
Yakuza: Dead Souls is set in the infamous red light district of Tokyo, which is under attack from hordes of zombies. Players will not only face armies of the undead and incredibly powerful mutants, but a treacherous Japanese underworld that is just as merciless. Playing through the eyes of four of the most infamous characters of the series, witness allegiances shift quickly and the line between friend and foe lost. If you thought zombies were bad…meet the Yakuza!
For the full story including some neat screenshots, check out the article at Gamezone, but first watch the announcement trailer below:
It’s been in the news recently of a Child’s Play video game coming to PS3 via PSN. Well now the proof is here that it is all true. Check out this image of a battered and scarred Chucky on this video game ad. No details of the plot have been revealed yet but you can be sure those will likely surface soon. Judging on the way Chucky looks (already having some battle wounds) it looks like it will be taking place at least after the events of the original movie. Other then that…no clue! Will you be this game’s friend till the end?
Following up on a report from a few weeks ago about the infamous Freddy Krueger joining the ranks among Mortal Kombat’s roster of killers, a backstory in the form of a video preview trailer has hit the web today. Check out what brought Freddy Krueger to the Mortal Kombat tournament!
Vodpod videos no longer available.
Freddy will be available on Playstation Network for $4.99 and the Xbox Live for 400 Pts tomorrow, August 9th! Still crossing my fingers that eventually they will decide to render a model of the original Robert Englund Freddy Krueger character.

One of the games I have really wanted to check out but couldn’t due to not owning an Xbox 360 was the indie game LIMBO. This game looked like a dark and dreary platforming game, one of which I never quite seen before. Giant Bomb website has this to say for the synopsis:
“In Limbo, a young boy is lost in the woods. He is on a quest trying to find his lost sister. This is never stated in the game itself. There is no dialogue throughout the game and there is no text to advance the plot.
The game uses a strange atmosphere instead of the usual narrative found in most games. Limbo’s plot is open and has a lot of space for various interpretations, particularly involving the game’s mysterious ending.”
I am happy to say for myself and all other PS3 owners that Sony’s Playstation facebook page is reporting that a port of the game is coming to the Playstation 3 this July, which if I am looking at the calendar correctly, is less than a day away. Not quite sold? Watch the spooky trailer below:
Fans of the “Devil May Cry” franchise may cry foul a bit here as Never Dead definitely has the look and storyline that could make you do a double-take to make sure this game wasn’t a sequel to the popular and hugely successful series. However, once you watch this preview a few times, I think it will make a convert out of you! It is simply stunning in it’s presentation. When it comes to “horror” this definitely falls more on the action-side of the genre, but hey we all need a little “hack n slash” in our lives, right? Watch the trailer below:
If you played House of the Dead:Overkill on the Wii then you might have had the feeling that it wasn’t quite the best fit for that platform. The game was loud, abrasive, gory, explicit etc etc….basically everything fans of zombies and the horror genre could want in a game, it’s just that for the wii itself it might have been trying to cater to the wrong audience. The wii, and more specifically Nintendo, itself is known for being a family-friendly platform. Well, SEGA has just assued everyone that it will no longer be an issue because House of the Dead:Overkill is coming to the PS3 on October 25th! Not only will the game be coming to the PS3 but it will be presented in a hi-def format and offer an extended cut with more levels and game modes! SEGA has this to say about the release:
The House of the Dead attacks the PS3 for the first time with PS Move and 3D support!
The House of the Dead: OVERKILL™ comes to the PS3 in this exclusive Extended Cut, with an avalanche of new content including brand new levels, weapons, mutants and more. Experience over-the-top mutant blasting madness with your PlayStation®Move motion controller, all in stunning 3D and remastered HD graphics.
The PS3 extended cut is also going to support the MOVEwhich seems like a pretty good fit for this type of game. With the multiple gun-like adapters, it should prove to be a good time blasting away at some zombies with a friend. I haven’t yet jumped into the MOVE platform, but a game like this could change that, quick! Will this be enough for folks such as myself who actually did purchase and play through the original version on the Wii? We’ll have to take a wait-and-see approach is what I’m guessing. Also, it will be interesting to see if the price point might happen to be a bit lower than the normal $60. Haven’t seen a trailer pop up yet for the new Extended Cut, so for now here is the original kick-ass trailer for the wii version of the game:
