Mockingbird Lane teaser hits the web….

Mockingbird Lane. The show has been on again/off again for the better part of a year now. Just a couple weeks ago, word was that the show was completely cancelled only to be immediately followed by a report saying that it had been re-packaged as a one time special for Halloween season programming. The latest news that hit courtesy of DREAD CENTRAL is claiming that the the special will air on October 25th, and if it is well received it will continue as a series.

Personally, I was not too enthused with the thought of a Munsters-esque reboot, however I actually didn’t mind the idea of a one time special event type program.  Needless to say, it sounds like the long-term plans for Mockingbird Lane are still up in the air and depend on us, the viewers.  Here is the teaser trailer…

Possible snafu with Red State review, GRIMM pilot will be watched and reviewed tonight….you can see it early too!.

If you follow on twitter, you know I might have had a possible mishap with the Red State review I wrote up. Looks like my login token on ARR expired some time while I was writing it (between bouts of also doing other stuff) and when I went to submit it, it gave me the “you must login first screen” which in order to do that, you have to click a link to login, and once you login it doesn’t bring back up what you were previously doing like some websites do. So, hey….lesson learned on that one eh?  I’ll find out later today probably if the review still ended up in the review que or not. If so I’ll post the usual excerpt and link. If not, I will probably just post some my abbreviated thoughts on the movie on here later tonight.

NBC feeling “GRIMM”….new horror-fairytale series coming to network!

Not sure if this totally slipped by me on the newswires, or it just hasn’t got much out there yet. From NBC, by way of executive producers David Greenwalt Angel, Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Jim Kouf Angel, National Treasure  comes a new series based loosely on some of the monsters from The Brothers Grimm novels.  Without any further explanation take a look at pretty extensive first trailer for the new series below, which will be followed by a snyopsis found right on the trailer’s youtube page:

“Detective Nick Burkhardt thought he was ready for the grim reality of working homicide in Portland, Oregon. That is, until he started to see things… things he couldn’t quite explain. Like a gorgeous woman suddenly transforming into a hideous hag, or an average Joe turning into a vicious troll. Then, after a panicked visit from his only living relative, Nick discovers the truth about his visions: he’s not like everyone else, he’s a descendant of an elite group of hunters known as “Grimms” who are charged with stopping the proliferation of supernatural creatures in the world.”

Nothing to Fear but “Fear Itself” so says netflix!

Remember the NBC anthology series FEAR ITSELF from 2008? No? Well let me remind you a bit of it.  After the success of Masters of Horror on Showtime. The creator Mick Garris decided to create a series with a similar format for network television.  Each episode would be directed by a different director, most of which had previous ties to the horror genre.

The series began airing and was eventually pre-empted for the Olympics and then ended up never returning to it’s Thursday night timeslot.  Of course, being on NBC there would be much more limitations put on the content allowed, however I remember seeing a few episodes and being entertained for the most part. Chalk it up to “Valiant effort” I suppose.  Hell even the opening credits theme song had a little “celebrity flare” as it was composed by System of a Down’s Serj Tankian.  Here is the original promo for the series:

Now, if you missed any of the episodes or the entire series, it is available all on netflix instant streaming. So pop some popcorn, dim the lights and prepare to fear….FEAR ITSELF….

…..but wait….Thanks to the awesome website FEARNET:
