Let’s hope the entire game is as good as the opening credits for The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct game……

The Walking Dead’s second video game installment (unrelated to Telltale’s The Walking Dead episodic adventure from 2012) is about to hit consoles in a few days and so far other than knowing you play as Daryl Dixon in the events leading up to the TV show’s pilot, not  much has been revealed.

Well here is a cool little tidbit to wet the appetite further, the opening credits from the game have leaked online….check ’em out below….

The Walking Dead will continue to walk the earth on AMC beyond season two!

Yep you heard it right. Not that it should come as any surprise, on the heels of shattering all basic cable records for the season 2 premiere, but just in case you needed to know for sure, AMC has officially announced that The Walking Dead has been renewed for a third season!!

“AMC announced today the renewal of The Walking Dead for a third season. Season 2 continues to deliver the strongest telecasts for any drama in basic cable history against Adults 18-49 shattering a basic cable record set nearly 10 years ago for a single drama telecast (The Dead Zone). The Walking Dead is based on the comic book series written by Robert Kirkman and published by Image Comics. Glen Mazzara serves as series’ showrunner. Kirkman, Gale Anne Hurd, David Alpert and Frank Darabont are executive producers. Greg Nicotero is a co-executive producer.

Character of “Otis” has been cast for Walking Dead season 2….

As the sweltering heat begins to swarm all of us, we know that are only a handful of months away from the Season 2 debut of The Walking Dead season 2.  It has been reported already that Hershel Greene’s farm will be a major set-piece in the upcoming season and now we have some casting news to go with that as well. TVLine has the scoop:

“In the first piece of casting news for the spooktacular AMC series’ sophomore run, TVLine has learned exclusively that Pruitt Taylor Vince has landed the recurring role of Otis, a foreman at Hershel’s Farm, where much of the Season 2 action is set to take place.”

We've got Otis! Walking Dead Season 2!

For all the horror veterans  out there you may recognize Pruitt Taylor Vince as the mental patient in the movie Identity. Excellent casting decision in my opinion! For the full report including a brief character description for those not familiar with the character please visit TVLine.

The Walking Dead: Season 2 is coming…but first a couple promo photos!

There has been rumblings over the last few weeks that AMC could be slashing the budget of it’s critically acclaimed and highly rated show THE WALKING DEAD. While that remains to be seen in the coming months, one thing that looks to be in tact is the super cool zombie makeup. Courtesy of  A couple promo photos for the new season have been released.

Hopefully these quench your appetite for now! As always check back for more news on The Walking Dead Season 2 as it becomes available!

More Walking Dead action figures have hit the net…..

I know I am a couple days late on this particular news, however for those that haven’t seen yet, there is now some additional action figures on the way in addition to the ones I reported on a few weeks back HERE.  Check these new prototypes out…pretty awesome, right!?

Zombie Biter watch out...He has a Crossbow!

More details on The Walking Dead video game, plus first concept art!

Seems lately like zombies have been taking over this blog.  No complaints here.  The news keeps rolling in as we get some more details on the upcomng Walking Dead video game as well as some concept art:

Click the above image!

As well as the image(s) ComicAlliances also has the following details to report:

“The game will follow Lee Everett, a criminal loosed from his police escort after it runs into an erstwhile zombie. Everett will unite with a seven-year-old girl named Clementine who Telltale says will provide a sort of moral compass for the convict.
As Rick Grimes tries to make his way into Atlanta, Lee and Clementine are trying to make their way out, which means they’ll cross paths with established series characters like Lilly and Glenn.”
As you can see, the game is going to be a totally different story than both the comic and tv series.  It will be pretty interesting to play along and see which characters from the show crossover in the game, and if possible vice versa in the future.  Also, nothing has been cofirmed yet but there is speculation that the game could play like other games from TellTale studios such as the Back to the Future game series!  Check back for more updates as soon as they are scooped!

Jon Bernthal & Laurie Holden on Walking Dead Season 1 experiences, share some Season 2 tidbits!

At this year’s C2E2 event in Chicago, there was a panel held for The Walking Dead.  Jon Bernthal & Laurie Hodlen were the two participants and they shared some experiences from working on the set during the first season as well as some tidbits we can look forward to in Season 2 of The Walking Dead! (you can use the video below to follow the link to youtube where you will find the rest of the panel discussion, including questions from the audience)

If you want to skip directly to the synopsis, ScreenRant tells us the following:

Holden: “I know we are going to get to Hershel’s farm in season two. But I can’t wait to get to the prison. Tyreese (Keith Allen Hayes is rumored in the role) and Michonne and The Governor — we’ve got some very bad ass people we are going to meet, but I don’t think we will get to the prison in season two because there is a lot to do, but we haven’t read the script so we don’t know.”

However, that was merely a small crumb of information that can be found after the jump! Please do yourselves a favor and read the entire synopsis including more possible Season 2 spoilers as well as answers to audience questions by vistiting SCREEN RANT
