Don’t touch that dial, your TV horror fix is back.
It’s Evil Episodes podcast #74!
On this episode the horror on TV is thin so we break out another edition of our much requested Tales from the Darkside retrospective, as we finish out the final five episodes of season 2. We also discuss the much buzzed about film Starry Eyes which is starting to make the rounds on the horror scene. Before we get to all that we talk about a few news items including a casting change on Hannibal, some tidbits about the new Evil Dead TV show, and a few horror video game nuggets. We close the show with a news item Mike forgot to bring up which is our reaction to the details recently revealed about The Walking Dead spinoff series! Enjoy the show!
On the latest installment we start off with our thoughts on a couple of new shows to hit the airwaves, WHODUNNIT, a murder-mystery reality show of sorts, and Stephen King’s Under the Dome. Mike & Jamie then go on to give their thoughts on the start of Dexter season 8! Very slim news segment this week featuring a couple of video game tidbits including Mike’s thoughts on Tell Tale’s “400 Days” episode of The Walking Dead game.
After that it is onto this episode’s featured review, another double-feature, SYFY’s Axe Giant: The Legend of Paul Bunyan, and Chiller’s 5 Senses of Fear anthology. Which won has us running for the hills and which won was Corey able to win Mike’s recommendation over by the end of the review? (Jamie would have none of it, haha)
Then we welcome Dan from The Skeleton Crew to discuss 6 episodes of Tales from the Darkside, yes not the usual 3, but 6….this segment really could have been a show of it’s own, which is why you will notice the extremely long running time of this episode. Before all is said and done we talk Teddy Ruxpin, Smokey the Bear, and McGruff the Crime Dog, not to mention Mike & Dan giving their thoughts on Season 3 of AMC’s The Killing thus far.
In this episode we get viewers caught up on all the happenings of The Walking Dead & The Following, as well as give our thoughts on the debut episode of Bates Motel (As of the release of this episode, a new episode of each show will have aired, sorry)! The Walking Dead’s 3rd season is drawing to a close, who will survive and what will be left of them when the dust settles between Rick’s group and Woodbury? We share a few predictions on who may not make it to season 4!
After that we get to our movie review of the week, SYFY’s Flying Monkeys! SYFY has to raise the bar eventually right? Does it come in the form of cgi “monkeys” w/wings? Find out our opinion now!
The episode closes with a brand new installment of our Tales from the Darkside retrospective as we finally start Season 2! Listen in as we dissect the three very sci-fi-ish episodes: The Impressionist, Lifebomb, & Ring Around the Redhead!
We start off the show with a huge bang, welcoming in a brand new co-host, Patrick, to the show! Everyone say Hello…..Patrick is basically an encylopedia of horror knowledge, especially when it comes to the TV-side. His expertise was put on display early in often in this, his first episode. Things gets started with thoughts on the first couple of episodes of The Following, as well as what our hopes our for the show and where we hope it doesn’t turn into down the road.
We then transition into the news, which includes some video game news, TV show news, and more of the usual stuff. The main review this week is SYFY’s Abominable Snowman. SYFY has set the standard for movies we watch (so you don’t have to). Will it be any different this time around? The show finishes out with the final 3 episodes of Season 1 of Tales from the Darkside. Yes, we finally made it to the end of season 1. Hooray! Hope you enjoy episode #33 and you can expect another HUGE ANNOUNCEMENT for episode #34 in a couple of weeks!
Welcome back for the 32nd episode of Evil Episodes!
In this edition we invite Moe (Drunk on VHS, No Budget Nightmares) back to discuss John Carpenter’s 1993 made for TV Anthology special BODY BAGS! Three tales of the macabre that aired on showtime. Do these short stories stand up to the legend of Carpenter? From there Mike & Jamie tackle another three episodes of Tales from the Darkside as we are rapidly approaching the end of the first season….(only 3 more episodes left)! After that those that choose to stick around get a bonus segment of Mike & Jamie going head to head on Texas Chainsaw (Massacre) 3D. If you’ve heard Jamie on the Skeleton Crew’s retrospective, then you already know her general opinion on the movie. Will Mike sway her one bit or will Jamie stand firm on her opinion, don’t wait to find out! All that and the usual news segment and an update on what we’ve been watching to kick off the show!

Thanks for Listening and as always….Don’t Touch That Dial!!!
This year there was so much stuff going on and around Halloween that we had to break our coverage into two parts.
This installment begins with Mike explaining away a couple of disasters that happened in the post-production of this particular episode and because of what, why the format will b slightly different than usual.
After that we get right into the show as friend of the show and special guest Doug Barnes from @theseasonpass joins Mike at a local haunt called CEMETARIUM. We first get an explanation of Disaster #1 to hit this episode of the podcast, and then sort of a re-enactment of events that originally took place live at Cemetarium. Then it is on to the segment that was salvaged as we record a walkthrough of the haunt with listener to the show Jeremy, as he is mic’d up for the walkthrough.
Next we welcome back again Midnight Corey of The Electric Chair Show podcast as he reviews The Midnight Hour with us, on his recommendation! Finally the show wraps up with the latest Tales from the Darkside segment as three more episodes are reviewed, including “Anniversary Dinner” which is one of my favorites of the entire series!
Welcome back for another edition of Evil Episodes!
On Episode #26 we get into some news from around the horror world, discuss our impressions of trailers for Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3D & Mama, and then get into some horror movies we have watched since the last episode.
We then welcome a returning guest Doug Tilley (@Doug_Tilley) of http://dailygrindhouse.com/ and the No-Budget Nightmares podcast to discuss an electric double feature consisting of Shocker & The Horror Show (aka House III). Doug is then kind enough to stick around for the latest installment of our Tales from the Darkside retrospective as we review another three episodes “A Case of the Stubborns”, “Djinn, No Chaser” and “All a Clone by the Telephone” All this and more on Episode #26 of the Evil Episodes Podcast!
Welcome back for another installment of Evil Episodes!
This is the big #25 so a celebration of horror is in order!
We get right into things with the discussion on some of the horror stuff we’ve been watching since the last episode, including the first couple episodes of the new season of Syfy’s Face Off reality competition show. What do we think of the new cast? Then we get into some news which was dominated mostly by promos and trailers for some of our favorite returning horror tv shows…can you guess which ones?
For this occasion we also welcome back the zombie podcasting king himself, Midnight Corey (from The Electric Chair podcast) to review Dead Season with us. Does this zombie flick stack up to the competition or will this be the next in a long line of throwaway titles that end up lost in the shuffle?
We then close this episode with the latest installment of our Tales from the Darkside retrospective covering another three episodes of the series which include Slippage, Inside the Closet, & Word processor of the Gods!
