Evil Episodes 017: Sometimes Dead Is Better!

Welcome back to episode 17 of Evil Episodes!

Darrick is back for the full episode this time around as we open up with a couple news items from the site, as well as a tidbit on an “interesting” casting choice for the second season of American Horror Story. From there I get into some horror games I have been playing recently including a game called Closure that has a free flash version available online right now!

After that we get into this week’s featured review which is a Chiller network original, GHOUL, which was adapted from Brian Keen’s novel about a mysterious creature living underground and keeping a town in fear once people start going missing!

The show closes with the latest edition of Horrorpiece Theater featuring a 1-2 punch of Pet Semetary 1 & 2. The original being an adaption of of the Stephen King novel of the same name. Does the movie hold up? Does the sequel offer a worthy follow-up? Tune in to find out!

Brian Keene’s GHOUL gets a trailer and an air date….

Premiering April 13th on Chiller is GHOUL an adaptation from Brian Keene’s novel. This is the next in many planned original movies for the network which kicked things off a couple months back with Steve Niles’ REMAINS.

Synopsis: “It is the summer of 1984 when a teenage couple goes missing among the gravestones of the local cemetery. Twelve-year-old Timmy and his best friends, Barry and Doug, have grown up hearing stories about a sinister Ghoul that haunts the cemetery. Eventually, they begin to wonder if the horrific legend might actually be real. Timmy and his friends are forced to put their friendship to the ultimate test when they dig up long-buried secrets, facing their personal demons and the one hiding underground.”

Looks almost like a mix between Stephen King’s IT and STAND BY ME…will it come close to as good as either of the aforementioned titles? Only one way to find out, tune in to Chiller on April 13th (A Friday the 13th, of course)!

Brian Keene’s GHOUL gets a spooky poster! Coming soon to CHILLER.

One of the two CHILLER network’s original movies coming soon is the movie GHOUL. Without giving too much of the plot away, lets just say it is about some type of monster in a cemetery that is killing folks. The official twitter account for the movie @GhoulMovie just released this frightening looking poster for the flick:

Production has wrapped on Chiller’s 1st original movie: GHOUL!

While Chiller’s 2nd original project for 2011 “REMAINS” just got production underway in Mystic, Conn., their very first original piece, titled “GHOUL” has just wrapped.  GHOUL is based on Brian Keene’s novel which offers the following synopsis:

“No one believes Timmy when he tells them he and his friends discovered a ghoul eating the dead in a local cemetery; but when the ghoul starts attacking the living as well as the dead, Timmy realizes it’s up to him and his friends to stop it.”

The pages of GHOUL convert to live action on Chiller!

Sounds pretty cool. Almost has a Fright Night but with Zombies feel to the story. Nolan Gould & Barry Corbin star in GHOUL which is set to air this fall on Chiller!
