Face-Off is a reality-tv competition show for aspiring make-up/effects artists that airs Wednesday nights on Syfy. Tonight happens to be the season finale of the first season! Multiple sources have confirmed that the show has been renewed for a second season. From FANGORIA:
The second season will offer a new group of rising SFX make-up artists the opportunity to showcase their imagination and creativity. Dwight D. Smith and Michael Agbabian of Mission Control will return as executive producers. Casting for trained and self-taught special FX make-up artists begins this month

The first season was kind of a mixed bag for me personally. Some of the contestants were clearly not ready for this and a handful of decisions by the judges seemed very questionable. I always have a tendency to take these types of shows with somewhat of a grain of salt considering a lot of times the judges have to consult with show producers before submitting their final judging decisions. However, the show was entertaining enough to get me to come back for a second season, and the one bright side is usually once a competition show like this airs, it brings even better contestants into the competition in the future due to more people knowing about it.
